Luxe Lifestyle Stress-free Feng Shui Dressing for the week - Quick tips for the high fashion woman on the go!

These tips are for stylish women on the go with the world to balance, of course, while looking fabulous!

These days we are starting to get back into the swing of things with new challenges of going about our daily lives while taking into consideration all that is presently occurring around us. Still, we must go on, and we have lots to do. As fashion-conscious women, we want to maintain our style and look without thinking about it too much.

Here are some tips to help you plan your outfits for the week at once in advance

  1. Put yourself in the right frame of mind

Choose one day of the week when you have a lighter schedule, like a less busy weekend day. A day that after having your favorite cup of ____ (you fill in the blank coffee, latte, green tea, etc. for me, it’s a Match Latte), you can relax and review your schedule for the week.

     2. Plan your attire for the coming days (min a week at a time)

Select your outfits for a full week, including accessories, layering pieces, and footwear, considering your activities and schedule for each day. Pro Feng Shui Tip - Think about your intentions for each day. Then be sure to incorporate the colors, patterns, silhouettes, textures, etc. that will help you to channel the desired energy. Pro Styling Tip - Include the selection of the most appropriate undergarments to give you a finished look with smooth lines. Therefore, you won’t be caught in a beautiful outfit with the lines from undergarments showing. Nor unintentional pops of color from undergarments that kill your look. Such dressing missteps prevent you from having a polish finish. When you are unsure about the outfit, try it on and review it in front of your full body mirror before confirming the look for a specific day. Going through this process in advance, instead of rushing to do so the morning of, or the night before when you’re done from the day will help you make better dressing decisions.

    3. Organize planned attire for a week

Once you have made your selection, it’s great to put all needed for a full look on a hanger. Smaller loose items can go into a garment sack and drape on the hanger. Another option is to use magic hangers if needed as you can hang several pieces of clothing on one magic hanger and without taking up more space in your closet. Find a set place in your wardrobe for your planned outfits for the week. Then put all your looks in order of the days. Mon’s entire look, Tues’s entire look, Wed’s entire look, etc. Add the footwear you plan to wear under the outfit.

You can take this a step further and add a cute day of the week closet tags for each look that matches your closet’s decor. (These can be found on Etsy and Amazon.) Remember, the point is to make dressing during the week stress-free. Thoroughly planning and laying all looks out in advance makes dressing stress-free in the morning. I sometimes like to put the outfit for the next day on a dress form, especially if it will be an important day to ensure the look is perfect. This is something you can do as well if you have one. Plus, vintage dress forms are lovely to have as closet decor. The night before, you can give your outfit planned for the next day a once over to be sure it’s ideal. If ever someone needs to grab your outfit for the next day for you, they can do so easily.

    4. Plan your attire for trips and vacations

This same process is suitable for trips and vacations. I love, love to travel, and when I do, I especially want to look great regardless of whether or not it is for work or personal reasons. If you ask my husband, he will tell you. I do this same process when I have to travel. For travel, I plan full looks for each day and add looks for the evening as well. Pro Styling Tip - Include 3 extra day outfits with the appropriate undergarments for if you miss your flight and end up there some additional days, or your trip gets extended for some reason. Also, always have one outfit that you can make look special in case you get invited to an important event while you are there. For packing efficiency, these can be outfits that can be worn in multiple ways in wrinkle-free fabrics. Therefore, you’ll have more options that don’t require care with fewer pieces. Pro Feng Shui Tip - Think of the purpose for your trip and incorporate the most appropriate colors, patterns, fabrics, silhouettes to help you promote the feeling you want to have on your trip. My go-to for personal trips to relax is white, beiges, light colors, free-flowing, airy garments.

    5. Consider the energy of a garment

Observe how you feel in a garment and take note for the next time you plan to wear it. For example, if you had an incredible success day the last time you wore an outfit and you have an important day coming up. Maybe, that’s the day to wear the lucky dress again. I know, I know, this might be a bit much for some. Before you laugh or dismiss, I must say some ladies have noticed that they have experienced some luck from time to time when they wear specific favorite pieces. Having said that, I urge you to keep this in mind. Also, think of the opposite scenario, and decide what is best to do with that garment. Maybe, you let it go! Either way, I encourage you to be mindful of this.

Conclusion

With this approach, you can dress with intent, be confident in your daily choice, comfortable, and revel in how you feel in your clothes each day.
