Ladies, have you ever noticed that you put on a certain color and feel delightful, serene, at peace, and like a stronger you? What about wearing different silhouettes? Have you noticed that there is a silhouette that makes you feel more you and graceful? Are there shapes and patterns you are more drawn to that you can wear all the time and never get tired of them? This describes Feng Shui dressing. Often we have noticed that there are colors, silhouettes, shapes, and patterns that we are drawn to, but do we use that information to build a wardrobe that thoroughly resonates with us? We seldom do. It's time to get rid of the clothes we kind of like that sit in the closet, hardly ever being used for the clothes we love and enjoy wearing over and over again. I challenge you to get rid of or donate the items in your closet that you never use for the ones you love. In this case, it's not about quantity but the quality and what best suits you. Come on this journey with the AISHA ladies and me to embrace your element with Feng Shui dressing to enhance your natural presence.

Why feel like crap, uncomfortable, and lacking confidence in your clothes? Your clothes should best suit you as an individual. Therefore, complement your personality, style preference, and aesthetic. A brief overview of the elements is below. A deeper dive is available when we build custom profiles for custom orders. In general, people will find they have some traits of all elements, but your element aligns with your core values and instinctive nature the most. Dressing with your element epitomizes dressing according to the soul, mind, and body. It is dressing in a way that best suits us as an individual. Frequently wearing your element will amplify your natural personality and strengths. However, your element doesn't have to be worn every day of life. Adding in other elements for specific purposes and activities can be useful. It's not a mystical solution to the problems of the world or individuals. Feng shui fashion helps people to channel positive chi and confidence.

Water Element

For those taking on ambitious creative, innovative, intellectual, academic, and spiritual projects, the water element can help you channel the right energy as you strive to achieve those goals while expressing your individuality. Water element dressing encompasses unique clothing, natural free-flowing fluid textiles, asymmetric cuts, abstract prints, and dark black/blue tones. Wavy lines, curves, spirals, and paisley represent water's movement. The metal element and colors (brass, copper, gold, and silver) can further support the enhancement of water's effects. But stir away from wood and earth tones colors that weaken water. Wearing the color black helps to exude leadership, project authority, depth, power, strength, or mystery. Reduce wearing black to be relatable, equal to, and on the same level as your peers or teammates. Avoid unnecessary excessive hardware and details like extra buttons, zippers, etc. Sleek and functional is the best option.

Complementary Colors: black and blue tones, baby blue, aqua, cobalt, and royal tones

Complementary Textiles: Chiffon, velvet, glossy, glassy, and sheer.

Energies: Flow, Abundance, Wisdom, Truth, Freshness, Purity, Freedom, Renewal, Ease.

Suitable for: Times that call for contemplative, imaginative, independent, sensitive, unorthodox steps and wisdom.

Typical Occupations: Water people tend to be academics, artists, healers, yoga/pilates instructors, musicians, scientists, and writers.

Earth Element

Earth energy is loyal, stabilizing, patient, nurturing, and grounding. Earth is ideal when seeking security, support, trust, dependability, and practicality. In all things, life and fashion, earth is the connector. Earth people favor practical, versatile investment pieces that can last a lifetime. White can be worn to complete bold moves. Earth should forgo Metal and Wood, as both are harmful to earth. Therefore, staying clear of green, silver, bronze, gold, copper, and pewter

Complementary Colors: Light yellow & brown are the dominant colors. - Other main colors are sand, beige, cream, tan, taupe, terra cotta, canary, dandelion, cream, coffee, and mocha. Additional colors to use are gold, orange, pink, purple, red, and white. Remember that yellow can be draining, so it is best to avoid wearing it when already tired.

Complementary Textiles: Woven fabric, velvet, tweed, linen, corduroy, chenille fabric, bouclé, check/plaid, flannel, cable knit, ceramic buttons, and jewelry. Patterns such as blocks, squares, cubes, and/or anything boxy and rectangular.

Energies: Care, Growth, Nourishment, Stability, Protection, Trust, Reliability, Protection, Loyalty.

Suitable for: Community or family-based activities when you want to feel grounded.

Typical Occupations: Earth people tend to be committed moms, nurses, therapists, teachers, and assistants.

Wood Element

Wood individuals are family-oriented, calm, kind, and patient and benefit from natural flowing comfort attire made of natural materials and fiber like cotton, silk, and wool. For the wood element, there is a focus on the physical and health, hence the reason they make great athletes. Wood reference would be ideal if seeking a competitive edge, the drive to realize goals, expand, grow, and a more serious outlook. Flexibility, strength, endurance, and confidence are prevalent attributes of wood. As wood persons tend to be athletic in nature, they often wear clothing based on function for activity, season, and condition. Wood colors brown, tan, and beige strengthen wood energy, and water colors support wood energy, much like water supports the growth of the trees. Harmful colors are gold, orange, pink, purple, red, and white. Metallic colors and a lot of metal-colored hardware on attire and accessories are not advised, as metal cuts wood. Since fire burns wood, it is also not advised to wear red. Wood people are business and risk-takers with tools to see projects through. Stripes and columns can be a go-to print whenever you feel you want to get things going.

Complementary Colors, Patterns, Textures: Primarily Greens and Browns. Additional colors are emerald, olive, lime, and light blues. Floral prints and embroideries, leaves, vines, curves, and scrolls are favored.

Complimentary Textiles: Cotton, silk, wool, linen, ribbed fabric, denim.

Energies: Health, Growth, Vibrance, Prosperity, Development, Vision, Vitality, Abundance, Open-Mindedness, and New Beginnings.

Suitable for: Energizing yourself, especially for exercise and academics (green). Wear brown when nervous or out of your comfort zone. Exhilarating green is not for times when restless.

Typical Occupations: Wood people tend to be athletes, coaches, lawyers, brokers, salespeople, and trainers. They are ambitious, motivating, dynamic, health-directed, and youthful.

Metal Element

Metal element people are lovers of luxury and high-end fashion. They embody elegance and sophistication and believe in spending a bit more for more valuable timeless styles. Forever stylish, metal people stay dressed sharp and set trends. The colors found in precious metals, jewels, and stones are the best for metal. Metal people are drawn to gold, silver, brass, copper, and pewter. Dressing with soft colors, monochromatic pastels, polka dots, and soft, clean, simple lines is ideal for metal energy. Since the earth produces metal, brown and yellow support metal energy, and round shapes and patterns balance metal fabric choices. If you are seeking to complete projects or to elevate your life and enhance areas of organization, cleanliness, wardrobe, and beauty, then focused, organized, and optimistic metal energy can help. Since water and fire aren't supportive of metal, colors red, orange, purple, and pink aren't great choices. A scarf, headband, or soft accessory can be worn to connect with a bit more warmth. Black and blue are often worn in professional settings. However, metal should keep in mind they make metal persons appear closed off.

Complementary Colors, Patterns, Textures: White, pastel, gray, silver, metallic colors, polka dots, round shapes (oval, arch, scroll), sparkle, shiny, stone buttons, and jewelry.

Complementary Textiles: Cotton, lace, leather, satin, silk, and wool that are polished, glittery, shiny, and shimmering.

Energies: Clarity, Freshness, Ease, Planning, Efficiency, Productivity, Discipline, Lightness, Calm.

Suitable for: Stylish and comfortable home office wear, exams, and cultural trips. To stand apart and give off leadership vibes. Not ideal for getting in touch with your emotional side and being social.

Typical Occupations: Metal people tend to be refined analysts, curators, editors, politicians, and organizers.

Fire Element

Energetic, attention-grabbing, and unapologetically expressive. The life of the party. Fire people embody showmanship and live in and for the spotlight. Their real life can display flair and drama better than some shows. Their choice of clothing highlights their personality and energy. For metal people, red, orange, gold, purple, bright pink, russet, and white with dazzling detail and/or body-con silhouettes work well. Patterns that resonate with or channel flames, like chevron, flames, and herringbone, support the flamboyant nature of a fire person. Fire people can carry off wearing stars and diamonds, which helps them exude their starlike qualities and personality. Since wood feeds the fire, adding wood colors can fire up the fire person even more. Green can also be an anchoring color to wear. Add fierce fire if you seek more fun and love or want to escape the mundane day for a wild, carefree time. As we know, water puts out fires, so water is not a go for fire people. For this reason, blue is not an energizing color, and metal is draining. Both should be avoided.

Complementary Colors, Patterns, and Textures: Red, burgundy, bright yellow, gold, orange, purple, pink, white (also metal), neon colors, animal print, and pointed designs—Satin, PVC, leather, fur, suede, sequins, and angular shapes.

Complementary Textiles: Cotton, faux fur, satin, and shiny silk textures

Energies: Passion, Drama, Enthusiasm, Success, Romance.

Suitable for: Dates, parties, celebrations, social or communication-based activities (wear soothing pink to resolve conflict), the theater. High red energy might be too much for sleep and when feeling nervous or self-conscious.

Typical Occupations: Since they are naturally social and charismatic, they are connectors, excellent networkers, actors, public speakers, spokespeople, anchors, hostesses, models, and dancers.
